Romantic
I am a die-hard romantic. Yes, I admit it, I love romance books, romantic movies, love stories on tv, etc. I find myself absorbed into the story everytime. The hubby usually rolls his eyes and walks out of the room when I find myself involved in a romance story. This weekend he finally commented on my love of love stories. You know it's the same story everytime and it's not even a good story, he said. I started to list all the best romance movies, in which he doesn't appreciate. It got me thinking about my favorite romance movies. What are your favorites? Do you think you could convince a guy to watch them and appreciate them as well?

"While you Were Sleeping" and "Charade". (My son likes "Charade", more mystery/romance. Haven't forced him to watch the other, although I may still do that.)
Welcome Peggy! Longtime reader, first-time writer. :)
I love While You Were Sleeping. I will have to check out Charade.
I love When Harry Met Sally, While you were Sleeping, The Notebook (actually anything by Nicolas Sparks is good), Steel Magnolias, Beaches and the like. I have never been able to get a guy to actually *want* to watch them, though some watch unwillingly.

Sleepless in Seattle. And Return to Me. If you haven't seen that, you must!
Love Actually, A Lot Like Love and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days are guy-friendly romantic comedies!!
Here goes: It Happened One Night, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, American Dreamer, Romancing the Stone, The Big Easy, Beauty and the Beast (French), Roxanne, Like Water for Chocolate, It's a Wonderful Life, Dodsworth, Last of the Mohicans, Pride and Prejudice, The Philadelphia Story, Somewhere in Time, Casablanca and guilty pleasure Pillow Talk
oh oh...The Quiet Man
More: A Room with a View (with Julian Sands), Bell Book & Candle, Charade, Cinema Paradiso, Don Juan Demarco (ah Johnny Depp), English Patient (ah Ralph Fiennes), Father Goose, Four Weddings & a Funeral, Ghost, Green Card, Groundhog Day, Indiscreet, Ladyhawke, Moonstruck, My Man Godfrey, Ninotchka, Sabrina (Audrey Hepburn), Splash, The Bachelor & the Bobby Soxer (Gary Grant is so funny), The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, The Long Hot Summer, The Sound of Music (Christopher Plummer is hot!), Tootsie, White Palace, Witness
When Harry Met Sally, Ghost,Hope Floats, Two Weeks Notice, Ladyhawke and A Walk to Remember are probably my top picks. Christopher Plummer *is* hot in Sound of Music!!!
Most guys I've dated have been willing to watch the movies with me (without complaint)--but that may because they have ulterior motives. :)

I should have known... I found myself agreeing with one of the comments on almost every one... and it was my mother.
Romancing the Stone is wonderful, adventure, fun. Princess Bride is a must-see for any age, any gender.
I love Foul Play, with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase - lots of fun and some cute tributes to classic Alfred Hitchcock films.
Groundhog Day. Tootsie! Love that flick. After a while you forget Dustin Hoffman is dressed as a woman. Beauty and the Beast, the Disney cartoon version. Emma, with Gwyneth Paltrow.
I love Somewhere in Time, but it has its cheesy moments and is maybe not guy-appropriate.
I also really like the movie Stranger Than Fiction, with Will Ferrell and Maggie Gyllenhaal. It's about a guy who is a character in a novel and he's trying to figure out who is writing his life and if he is in a comedy or a tragedy. It's not your typical Will Ferrell fare. It's funny and sweet.
I like romances where you can understand why the characters fall in love, not just that they meet and boom, they're in love (or making out, depending on the film and how you define "love").
Wow, you all have such great suggestions. I plan to Netflix the ones I haven't seen and check them out. If anyone is interested in a movie night, let me know and we can plan a viewing party.
Kay has begun what she deems as my "education" and has loaned me The Quiet Man for this weekend.
I like Beauty and the Beast (Disney), Sleeping Beauty (Disney), Two Weeks Notice, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Dirty Dancing (Patrick Swayze is *Hot*), The American President (I own that one)! That's all I can think of right now! :)
